Director Jean-Young Lee Appointed as a Civilian Member of the Overseas Koreans Policy Committee

On January 30th, Director Jean-Young Lee was awarded a certificate of appointment of the Overseas Koreans Policy Committee by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. 

 

The Overseas Koreans Policy Committee was operated under the Prime Minister pursuant to a presidential directive since 1996, and has been a committee under Minister of Foreign Affairs since September 2021. With the enactment of the “Framework Act on Overseas Koreans” in May in 2023 and its enforcement from November of the same year, the legal framework of the Committee was finalized.

 

Their term on the Committee will last from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.
