K-Academic Diffusion Activities
Director Lee Jean Young - Development of K-academic Diffusion activities in Hungary and Slovakia

Lee Jean Young, director of the Inha Center for International Studies(ICIS) visited Budapest, Hungary and Bratislava, Slovakia from June 24th to 25th, 2025 in order to promote the K-Academic Diffusion Research project abroad and lay the foundation for mutual cooperation.
On June 24th, he participated in the Middle Eastern and Central European Conference held in Budapest, Hungary, and delivered a presentation. Director Lee Jean Young introduced the K-Academic Diffusion Research project for participants in the conference and officials from local education and cultural organizations with the purpose of exploring the specific direction of cooperation.
On the afternoon of the same day, he visited Budapest King Sejong Institute and met with Professor Jin Kyung-ae, and explained the composition and utilization of the K-MOOC online course mainly as well as the purpose of this project.
Currently, more than 300 students are enrolled in King Sejong Institute. Professor Jin assumed that the demand and possibility of using K-MOOC courses is very high as it is operated even with advanced Korean language courses through connection with K-pop and Korean Cultural Center programs.

On June 25th, he moved to Bratislava, Slovakia, to seek to expand cooperation with local educational institutions. In particular, Director Lee Jean Young visited Comenius university to discuss the possibility of introducing the K-MOOC course and its specific use plan, and laid the groundwork for future cooperation.
Both Budapest King Sejong Institute and Bratislava's educational fields are regions where interest in Korean studies is high and academic and cultural demands are continuously increasing. In the future, it is expected that K-MOOC contents will be introduced into regular classes and used in earnest.
The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center plans to continue putting efforts into expanding cooperation with researchers and educational institutions around the world with the aim of promoting the international spread of Korean political diplomacy and enhancing academic status.
