The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center at Inha University participated in Seoul General Assembly of International Political Science Association (IPSA) held at COEX in Seoul from July 12-16, 2025 as an official partner.

Founded in 1949, the international Political Science Association is the world's largest political science academic organization that tours major cities around the world every two years to hold a general meeting. The Seoul General Assembly had been the memorable event in Korea since 1997, which once again served as an opportunity to raise Korea's political science research levels and international status to the world.

The main theme of the General Assembly is Resisting Autocratization in Polarized Societies, which covered in-depth international discussions and solidarity measures to protect democracy against the retreat of global democracy and social and political polarization. More than 3,000 political scientists from around the world participated in this general meeting along with politicians such as President Lee Jae-myung, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik, and other lawmakers, and active exchanges between domestic and foreign political academia and policymakers took place. In particular, it was evaluated as a symbolic scene to let global political scientists gather together in the center of Gangnam, Seoul, well known as "Gangnam Style". This fact led to raising the mutual status of Korea and the global political science community through discussion on the crisis and future of democracy.

At this event, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center introduced K-MOOC lectures on ▲ Politics, Diplomacy, and Politics of Identity, and ▲ Pacific Focus, an English-language SSCI-listed international academic journal published three times a year in April, August, and December by Inha Center for International Relations. The pamphlets provided to participants were guided to directly access the center's official website, YouTube channel, and K-MOOC course pages through QR codes, effectively promoting the center's main activities.

In addition, through exchanges with scholars from various countries and continents such as Japan, China, Canada, the United States, and Africa, it laid the foundation for cross-regional research cooperation and global network formation. Furthermore, it has contributed to enhancing a positive image of Korea by providing foreign scholars with opportunities to experience Korean politics, culture, and society.

The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center will continue to carry out practical and sustainable activities to raise the status of global Korean studies and expand the field of academic and cultural diplomacy through collaboration with global political science researchers.
