The K-Connectors program, run by the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center under Inha Center for International Studies(ICIS), has been carrying out various activities with the aim of spreading Korean studies in the field of Social Science since the first term. In the second term, a total of six teams have been actively involved, and the "Link" team has planned the "Consider Goryeoin" project by paying attention to the entrance examination problems of Korean teenagers who want to keep staying in Korea.
The project "Consider Goryeoin" led by the Link team was planned based on the K-MOOC lecture "Formation and Development of the Goryeoin Community in Korea ". The course deals with its history of formation and adaptation of Korean society, and the Link team planned this project to link the academic knowledge obtained from the course to solving actual social problems. The "Consider Goryeoin" project is not just a cultural exchange but also revealing the difficulties faced by the Korean society and seeking practical solutions.
The main project of the Link team consists of the production of a guidebook for entrance exams for young Goryeoin and the operation of booths for the Busan International Civic Festival. The entrance exam guidebook contains practical information such as high school admission procedures, multicultural special admission guidance, scholarship system, and college entrance route. The Busan International Civic Festival ran a booth called "Do you know Goryeo people?" to introduce the history and identity of Koreans' migration and shed light on the settlement process and educational difficulties in Korea.
The Link team said it plans to distribute about 150 copies of the entrance examination guidebook to multicultural education support centers and related organizations. The Link team shared information on Goryeoin to about 70 participants, and most of the participants responded that they had "newly learned about Goryeoin" as a result of the survey at the Busan International Civic Festival. The Link team explained, "We wanted to provide practical entrance examination information to Goryeoin youth who are alienated from information, and in the mid to long term, awareness of Goryeoin and multicultural sensitivity should be improved."
