On May 20th, 2025, Director Jean Young Lee of Inha Center for International Studies (ICIS) visited the University of Turin in Italy, actively engaging in academic and educational activities aimed to spread Korean Studies in Europe.

Director Lee began the session by introducing the K-Academic Diffusion Project to faculty members of the University of Turin's School of Management. He delivered a presentation on Korean-related academic and cultural contents, highlighting the potential for the spread of Korean Studies not only in the humanities but also in the fields of social sciences and business.

Following this, he conducted a two-hour special lecture for graduate students, introducing the current trends in Korean Studies (K-Academia) and showcasing Korean food culture. Especially, his live demonstration of the K-MOOC online course platform drew a lot of attentions from local students. He also guided students by explaining the login process and how to use the platform's contents.

The Korean Studies Department at the University of Turin, established in 2024, currently enrolls around 400 local Italian students. Professor Giuseppina, who leads the department, expressed a strong interest in holding another special lecture on K-MOOC and developing future collaborations in time for the upcoming October semester.

In addition, Director Lee has received invitations from various Korean Studies centers across Europe, including the University of Málaga in Spain and the University of Bordeaux in France. This suggests a growing scope for future educational collaborations in Korean Studies.

This visit is considered a meaningful case of implementing the globalization of digital Korean Studies contents focusing on K-MOOC, and it is expected to lay the foundation for future global diffusion strategies.
