On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center held the first colloquium of the fourth year in the 'Public Diplomacy and the World' series, featuring Prof. Keun-Jung Lee from Inha University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The colloquium, titled 'Cultural Differences and Successful Business Negotiations in Central Asian Countries,' was moderated by Prof. Jean-Young Lee, Director of the Inha Center for International Studies, and included Prof. Dong-Ju Choi from Sookmyung Women's University as a discussant.
The academic event focused on in-depth discussions about negotiation strategies for successful business in Kazakhstan, one of the Central Asian countries. Prof. Lee emphasized the importance of understanding and incorporating the cultural differences between Korea and Kazakhstan when formulating business strategies to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. He further explained that this culturally informed approach not only supports economic interests but also contributes to establishing a sustainable cooperative relationship between the two nations, which in turn aids in successfully expanding Korea's public diplomacy and Korean language education.
