On June 30th, Kim Jae Young, a researcher at Inha University's K-Academic Diffusion Research Center, attended the 1st Global Conference hosted by Korean Association of AD & PR (KADPR) and delivered the presentation on K-MOOC courses for the spread of global Korean studies to foreign students and professors.
Professor Lee Jong-min (Kookmin University) presided its general presentation session and Kim Ji-young (Hawaii University) participated in the discussion on the presentation. Both professors held a meaningful discussion for about 20 minutes. The main questions for the presentation were dealt with in the discussion: 1.The characteristics of a series of K-MOOC courses, 2.Methods in spreading K-MOOC courses with the help of AI, 3.How Korean studies scholars can make the best of K-MOOC courses such as public diplomacy. Especially, professor Kim Ji-young of the University of Hawaii, who is in charge of Public Diplomacy subject, said that she plans to look at Inha University's K-MOOC courses and extract the necessary parts for her course in the near future.
Since its foundation in 1998, KADPR has actively supported mutual exchanges and academic activities among members engaged in advertising and public relations, and has established itself as a representative society in the domestic communication field. This presentation served as an opportunity to discuss in-depth measures necessary to promote global Korean studies in the field of public relations and communication, and it is expected that the scope of K-MOOC utilization will be further expanded, including public diplomacy for foreign students and professors working at foreign universities, overseas Koreans, and raising awareness of Korean culture. The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center will continue to not only expand cooperation with domestic and foreign communication societies and public relations organizations, but also make efforts to spread and enhance the status of K-Academic.
