12 days ago Current Status of Korean Studies in Latin America

On November 29th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center successfully held the 6th workshop of the 4th year with regional experts to discuss the current status and spread of Korean studies in Latin America. Starting with the presentation of Professor Min Won Jung, who has taught Korean Studies in Chile for more than 20 years, this workshop serves as a place to learn in detail how related departments, such as the Academy of Korean Studies, the Korean Foundation, the King Sejong Institute, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, have cooperated and communicated for Latin America. In particular, all participants listened to the current status of Korean Studies at the Catholic University of Chile and her experiences in Chile. Lastly, it was meaningful to share opinions by talking about the possibilities and limitations of Korean studies altogether. In addition, through in-depth discussions between Professor Kim Young Chul and co-researcher Bae Jin Sook, all participants agreed that it is imperative to seize the opportunity of spreading Korean studies in various countries and universities such as Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia In terms of newly exploring the connection between Korean studies. In the near future, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center will continue to provide more developed and beneficial online educational contents through continuous cooperation and communication between Latin American countries and universities.

22 days ago Workshop for the Authors of English Textbook

On November 19th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center held a workshop on guidelines for writing English textbooks from the perspective of authors, which is the main task of the research center. In this workshop, we provided specific guidelines for writing each chapter of the English textbook and had a Q & A session. In addition, there was a time to listen to the suggestions and comments from the authors. In addition, presentations were delivered on the promotion and diffusion plans of the K-MOOC course, and various opinions on effective promotion strategies were actively exchanged based on these presentations.

27 days ago The Legality of Maritime Militia

On November 7th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center at Inha University invited Professor Zhang Yanchang of Dalian Maritime University to hold the third workshop of the fourth year. The workshop was held under the theme of "The Legality of Maritime Militia," and in-depth discussion was proceeded. It is designed to not only re-examine the role of maritime law for peace and stability given the unstable international circumstances, but also analyze the current situation in Northeast Asia from the perspective of maritime law. Professor Lee Seok Woo of Inha University's Graduate School of Law was in charge of leading the event, and Yoon Seok Joon, a researcher at Korea Institute for Military Affairs, participated as a panel for in-depth discussions.

2024.10.17(00:00) Promotion of New Immigration Policy and Direction of Immigrant Social Integration

Inha Center for International Studies held a workshop on October 17 (Thursday) in the conference room of Inha University's Jeongseok Academic Information Center under the theme of "Promotion of New immigration Policy and Direction of Immigrant Social Integration." The workshop held an in-depth discussion on the current status of Korea's new immigration policy and the direction of immigrant social integration. In addition, the workshop was able to share various field experiences with each other and discuss more effective policy directions.

2nd 2024.10.15(10:20) Joint Researcher Workshop on Online Course Development

The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center successfully held the 2nd workshop of its 4th year On September 25th. This workshop aimed to guide the production of the 4th-year videos and was attended by co-researchers, online education content design experts, and video project production experts.   During the workshop, guidance on course production was provided, followed by a Q&A session. There was also time to listen to the suggestions of the research team. Additionally, the schedule and plans for the upcoming course filming process were shared, and various opinions were exchanged in order for the experts to enhance the quality of video content.   The K-Academic Diffusion Research Center will continue to provide more advanced educational contents through continuous collaboration and communication.

1st 2024.09.05(00:00) Identity Politics and Public Diplomacy in Korea : Migration, Ethnicity, Network and Governance

On August 29th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center hosted a workshop on one of its key projects: the publication of an English research book titled 'Identity Politics and Public Diplomacy in Korea: Migration, Ethnicity, Network and Governance'. The event began with an opening address by Lee Jean-Young, Director of the Inha Center for International Studies, and was divided into two sessions featuring presentations and in-depth discussions on the book's topics.   In the first session, moderated by Prof. Sangtu Ko from Yonsei University, presenters included Prof. Sehoon Choi from Chinese Culture University, Prof. Hye-Kyung Lee from Pai Chai University, Professor Park Woo from Hansung University, Prof. Suweon Kim from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Prof. Seongjin Kim from Duksung Women's University, who shared their research findings.   The second session was a roundtable discussion moderated by Prof. Hye-Kyung Lee from Pai Chai University. All presenters, along with Prof. Jin Suk Bae from Konkuk University, Research Professor SeungJae Lee from Inha University, engaged in a thorough discussion.   The publication of the English research book is scheduled for the end of April 2025.

6th 2024.03.04(16:08) Joint Researcher Workshop [K-Academic Operations, Promotion, and Dissemination]

On February 28th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center hosted the 6th workshop of the 3rd year under the theme of "K-Academic Operations, Promotion, and Dissemination." This workshop comprised various topics including operational reports, demonstrations of courses for the 3rd year, sharing experiences and know-how regarding filming, and strategies for promoting and disseminating K-academics. There were sessions for Q&A regarding project implementation and for sharing suggestions and opinions of joint researchers. A total of 17 individuals attended the workshop, including staff members and joint researchers from the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center.

5th 2024.03.04(15:41) Community-Based Social Integration Policies and Domestic Chinese Diaspora

  On December 12th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center hosted a workshop in collaboration with the Center for Multiculturalism and Social Integration in Room 417, Building 9 of Inha University. During the workshop, Director Jean-Young Lee delivered a presentation on "Community-Based Social Integration Policies and Domestic Chinese Diaspora." Following the presentation, all participants engaged in mutual sharing of field experiences and in-depth discussions on domestic policies regarding the Chinese diaspora in Korea.

4th 2023.12.26(10:42) Korean Research Monograph Second Workshop

On December 7th, the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center conducted its 4th workshop of the 3rd year. The central theme of the workshop was the publication of research, the key initiative of the K-Academic Diffusion Research Center. Participants engaged in presentations and discussions regarding the contents of their authored works. The publication of the research book is scheduled for the end of February 2024.
